This is the Chipworks portal, where we welcome our users and pet owners to log in and make use of our services.
Chip and PIN
If you are a pet owner in possession of a Registration Certificate (a printable PDF document)
then in addition to the Chip ID you will find an Owner's PIN with which to log in.
When you are logged in, you can update certain information about your pet.
The kind of information you can edit, and whether the edit is free or comes with a fee, will depend on the kind of account you have with Chipworks.
If you have more than one pet registered with Chipworks, you can link your pets into groups so
that you can use the Chip ID and Owner PIN of any pet to log in and see the details of all the pets in its group.
To confirm that a Chip ID is registered with Chipworks, use our Chip Search service.
To allow someone else (such as a buyer for the pet) verify the registered details, give the person the Chip ID and the Verification PIN.
Upon login with the Verification PIN, the user will see the pet's details, the address where it is kept (which is not necessarily the same as the owner's address), and the name of the owner.
The verification page does not present the owner's phone or email details, or owner's address if different from the kept address.
You can choose to relinquish the pet in favour of a new owner, whose details you supply.
When you do this, you will no longer be able to log in using your Chip ID and Owner PIN.
However, the new owner will be able to log in using the Verification PIN and claim ownership.
Our staff will compare the details you have supplied, with the details that the new owner supplies, before concluding the transfer.
Alternatively, instead of relinquishing to a named individual, you can just give the new owner the Take Ownership PIN.
The new owner then uses the Chip ID and Take Ownership PIN to log in and complete the transfer.
Chipworks will assume that anyone in possession of the Take Ownership PIN has the approval of the owner to take the pet.
Using your Owner's PIN, you can log in and download any of the following:
A PDF document certifying all of the registered details associated with the pet, including the owner's contact details, the Owner's PIN, Verification PIN and Take Ownership PIN.
A PDF document certifying only the pet's registered details, kept address, the current owner's name and the Verification PIN.
A PDF document containing the Chip ID and Verification PIN with instructions for the new owner to complete the transfer after you have relinquished the pet.
A PDF document containing the Chip ID and Take Ownership PIN, enabling whoever possesses the document to take possession of the pet without further involvement from the current owner.
Note: At Chipworks we use the terms owner and keeper interchangeably.
The terms refer to the person who is registered as responsible for the pet, and to whom Chipworks would normally send correspondence.
If you are a registered service user (such as a vet or animal charity representative), Chipworks will have issued you with a Unique Identity Code (UIC) and password.
Use your UIC and your password to log in.
In the Profile second of the Chipworks portal you can change your password, which you should do regularly.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
